Hot Brown Day in Louisville

Not too many words today. Instead, lots of photos.

The Hot Brown is the name of an open-faced sandwich originally created by the venerable Brown Hotel in Louisville. To kick off Hot Brown Week here, a new fundraiser for the Waterfront Park was held there. About a dozen chefs came to challenge the Brown Hotel for the best Hot Brown in Louisville.

There were wild variations, including one with Flaming Hot Cheeto Dust and beer cheese dipping sauce. Ultimately, my vote went to Gorilla Bob’s Hot Brown. A red-collar, working man (and woman’s) version.
