Aug. 18th Delta bills hearing online

capitol fountainThe first Joint Legislative Committee hearing to consider the 5 Delta water bills is online in two parts and is quite interesting, should you have about 7 hours to spend. If you don’t have that much time, you can scroll through the hearing and listen to the portions that do interest you.

The testimony will expose you to many more perspectives than we’re presenting in our series, including Native American and environmental justice.

Part 1  Features an introduction to the legislation, discussion of each of the 5 bills by their authors, and testimony from several panels of interest groups giving their perspectives on the issues and the proposed legislation.

Part 2  continued from Part 1.

The California Channel videos are not edited – in the beginning is a period when nothing is going on and in its totality, the hearing is quite lengthy. By the end of the videos you will have a much better grasp of the immense decisions to be made and the tasks at hand.

I like going places: out West, west of the West, and all the way around the back of the globe to the East. I like to go by train, plane, automobile, horseback. Whatever. And I like writing about what I see, feel, hear, smell, and touch all along the way and once I get there.
